The Monologue

Premiere: 27.4.2017
Theater Rampe Stuttgart

The Institution is back: In a time that requires dialogue and multiperspectivity more than ever before, actor Armin Wieser dares to create a monologue between lecture performance, video installation and minimalist music theater. He masterfully plays with what was, is and can be. ‘The Monologue‘ is the eight episode of Herbordt/Mohren’s award-winning examination of institutions, their critique and updating. After inhabiting empty flats, public spaces and even an entire village, ‘The Monologue‘ returns to the stage to recapture our imagination as a space of shared action.

Artistic Directors: Melanie Mohren, Bernhard Herbordt. Performance: Armin Wieser. Video: René Liebert. Scenography: Leonie Mohr, Hannes Hartmann. Composition: Bill Dietz. Technical Director: Norman Thörel. Assistant: Carlos Franke. Production: ehrliche arbeit – freelance office for culture.

A Herbordt/Mohren production in co-operation with the Theater Rampe Stuttgart, funded by the State Association of Independent Theaters Baden-Wurttemberg e.V., financed by the Ministry for Science, Research and Art Baden-Wurttemberg and the Cultural Department of the City of Stuttgart.
