The Presentation
‘The Presentation’ is a performance in book form. At least from the outside, ‘The Presentation’ looks like any book in any collection, archive or library. When the book is opened, it contains playing cards, media players, accompanying text, felt supports and other utensils from long-past, much larger performances. Opening the book, a personal introduction begins for only one visitor as the protagonist. An exploration tour of the surrounding institution. With all their accesses and exclusions. In written, spoken and German sign language. With integrated audio description. Visitors are invited to experience and complete ‘The Presentation’ in their own order and rhythm. Or imagine it.
First performance Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Studiensaal der Graphische Sammlung, 16.11.2023
Further performances and permanent locations of ‘Die Vorstellung’ (The Presentation) will be announced here shortly.
